Justin Otten is an Associate Attorney with Peninsula Law. Mr. Otten graduated from the Santa Clara University School of Law (SCU) in 2014, passing the California bar exam that same year. During law school Mr. Otten specialized in environmental law and business transactions, receiving a certificate of specialization from the SCU International Business Law Program. Justin participated in several externships while at SCU interning at the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office and the international NGO the Cambodian Center for Human Rights.
After graduating, Justin began working for Otten and Joyce, LLP, a boutique law firm in the Los Angeles South Bay. At Otten and Joyce, Justin participated in a verity of civil litigation ranging from environmental and land use cases, to tenants’ rights, shareholders’ disputes, and Second Amendment cases. Most notably Justin had the privilege of working on such cases as Corey Spencer v. Lunada Bay Boys, and Sylvester v. Harris.
Later, Justin would work with the then startup Ripe Vapes, Inc. as in-house and later independent counsel. At Ripe Vapes, Justin worked as part of an in-house compliance and regulations team, watching the company grow from a small startup to a multi-million-dollar company with world-wide distribution. Justin’s duties at Ripe Vapes included ensuring the company’s manufacturing and distributions practices were compliant with federal and state regulation as well as handling the company’s contract and litigation needs.
